The Oktyabr skateshop guys from Moscow started filming this video before Putin decided to invade Ukraine. Some of the riders have left Russia after the brutal war started. It’s crazy that something horrible like a war comes into your head while posting a skatevideo but that’s the times we’re living in. It would be easy to ignore the video but some of the riders are our friends and we know that they are devastated by what their country is doing as well. Dismissing friends for actions of their country would feel wrong. Especially because it’s a video with great skateboarding in it and skateboarding can create a universal bond of friendship. We hope that skaters of Ukraine (you can see more here and here) and Russia will be able to have sessions together again, when the war is over.
