Nike SB x Civilist "Spree Pack"
Barely crossing the city borders, we went straight to Civilist to take a look at the Nike SB x Civilist “Spree Pack” (For that matter you should also check our Spree galery in our third issue). Even Mr. Stefan Janoski came and was inviting for a boat trip. Since we had to build our booth, we unfortunately couldn’t join the water-party, but met everybody again later on the island they were heading for.
Bright
If you plan your booth one day before the tradeshow starts, you can’t reinvent the wheel. Since none of us felt like hanging around the tradeshow all day long, we roped it off and loitered on the Berlin streets.

We were psyched to meet Dennis McGrath, who made the journey with his book “Heaven”, dealing with the biography of Lennie Kirk, plus an exhibition. We had an article about this in our first issue.
Shitfoot Mongoland
Next to the Bright there was Shitfoot Mongoland in the Urban Spree Gallery for the first time, a small, snotty and very pleasant counter-event, which focuses on core-skateboarding. Amongst a skatepark and tons of beer it provided a large amount of side program. For example we got to see the Carhartt Mongolia video, “Where We Come From” from Lucas Fiderling and also the “Sour” video. Unfortunately your photo skills were a bit limited at the evening events…
Actually we wanted to put up an interview with Alex Irvine, ex-Kingpin chief editor and one of the initiators of SFML, before we went there, but due to the lack of time, we didn’t.Now, we just want to give you a brief overview.

The LoveMe collective brought a copy machine to prepare the graphics for their new boardseries. If you felt like it, you could scan your butt.
The Yama Crew used the intention of the tradeshow to its best.
DC Smoke on the Water
The biggest event was organized by DC this time. Wes Kremer, Madars Apse and Evan Smith were there, DJ Premier and Jeru the Damaja were going at it on the turntable or the mic and Patrick Rogalski rocked the skatepark and cashed some big bills. Michi von Fintel Part Premiere
Michi von Fintel came out with a part for Trap and invited to the Cafe Örly which is owned by team colleague Jürgen Horrwarth. Big recommendation. The cocktails are hammers, just like the tricks that Michi did in his part.
A Non-Serious Skateboard Bowl Competition
The final event was took place in the Chalet, right next to the Bright. Nice ambience, burgers, free beer and a bowl, in which especially Daan van der Linden was going nuts. Despite the name of the event there was some serious stuff going down there for a second.
That was it. The three days were over again. It was fun and with all the nice people that we met, we didn’t even feel all that solo. See you again in six months!
